The Wanderer

Wanderer oh Wanderer, you look for a home.

A place for your heart to rest.

You walk upon the world that clutches you tight.

Temptation surrounds you.

Your greatest fears stab you sharper then a knife.

Who is greater then this world?

Who shall give me my rest that I for so very long have wanted?

Those are your daily questions.

A wanderer has no home.

They walk the Earth from place to place.

Asking what their purpose is.

Emptiness fills their heart.

They are broken and confused.

Wanderer oh wanderer who are you?

A voice, one that is unknown to you it is soft and loving.

It calls to you in the the distance your name is heard.

What is this voice? Who is it?

None other then the one who gave you breath.

Therefore I say to you oh wanderer, oh lonely man or lonely woman.

Go to the one who gave you breath.

He will give you rest and all the joy you have ever wanted.

You were a wanderer once now you are a newborn babe in a new life.

So was I once.

I stand here waiting, watching, listening.

Where are you I wonder?

Where is my master?

My maker?

My greatest fears surround me, they choke me.

I try and break free but weakness claims me.

I cannot see you, I cannot hear you.

My soul cries out, Father! Father!

My bones begin to crack, I cannot move.

Is this the end?

Is this where my joy fades?

I cry, and cry.

I am lost and confused.

Jesus where are you?

Savior come.

I thought my hope was lost, but then I see a light.

A light I knew very well, he scooped me up and held me in his arms.

I dare not wander again.

I rejoice because he  left the ninety nine, and found his little lost lamb, me.



No matter how far we wander, God will always be right behind us.

That is the meaning of this poem.
